Risk Governance & Reporting Analyst

This contract role will support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and be primarily responsible for the coordination of regulatory licensing requirements across multiple regulators, working closely with the business and ensuring all communications from regulators is managed and responded to in a timely manner. The role will need to draft and maintain corporate policies, ensuring a consistent approach is adopted and identifying inconsistencies and escalating these to the CRO.

The role will be the central lead for all regulatory communications and sourcing information to be able to respond appropriately, liaising with key stakeholders and preparing draft responses for the CRO’s approval.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Risk Governance:   

  • Coordinate and update multiple documents and related policies in preparation for new regulatory license applications.
  • Maintain a centralised register for all documents, including but not limited to status updates, owners and tracking regulatory feedback received and dates for submission to the regulator.
  • Managing deliverables and updates to align with Committee and Board dates for policy approvals.
  • Prepare materials for review and approval by the Executive Team and support ongoing monitoring and assurance activities with provision of materials

Reporting:

  • Provide regular updates to the Executive team and other key stakeholders on the nature of the regulatory requests and the required time frames to respond.
  • Supporting the business to prepare documentation in response to requests.
  • Support ongoing compliance with licence conditions, regulator requests and coordinating business responses.
  • Prepare and maintain material for APRA and ASIC engagement, including submissions, responses and follow-ups.
  • Assist business units in understanding regulatory expectations, policy interpretation and new requests/requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate Documentation - Maintain accurate compliance documentation and records at all times.
  • High Quality and Accurate Communication - Communication with internal stakeholders, monitoring information and provide assistance to the Risk and Compliance team as required.
  • Stakeholder Management - Build lasting relationships with internal stakeholders with the aim of providing constructive and accurate feedback on compliance related matters.
  • Process Improvement - Drive the design and implementation of process improvement and automation with regards to the collection, handling and reporting of complaints and compliance data.
  • Continuous Improvement - Take part in training and other learning opportunities as required to expand knowledge and understanding of risk and compliance practices across the business.
  • Projects and Team Support - Risk management project work and risk reporting activities as required.
  • Report Writing – Contribute to internal reporting and regulatory submissions through accurate and professional written reports on compliance metrics, breach trends, complaints, and other obligations.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a Financial Services Risk and Compliance role.
  • Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of Compliance and Risk management.
  • Proficiency in compliance monitoring tools and reporting systems.
  • Understanding of AFSL compliance requirements and practical experience managing AFSL-related tasks is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with APRA standards and ASIC requirements.
  • Experience providing compliance advice or guidance to internal business stakeholders and working cross functionally.
