Job Description

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Case Manager to join our Claims team and play a key role in managing complex claims while providing technical leadership, coaching, and quality oversight across the broader team.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced claims professional who enjoys solving complex problems, supporting others to succeed, and influencing high-quality customer outcomes. You will apply your advanced claims expertise, professional judgement, and customer advocacy skills to guide complex cases, support capability development, and help embed NobleOak's claims philosophy, quality standards, and values in everyday practice.

If you're passionate about delivering fair, defensible claims decisions and making a meaningful difference to customers during important moments in their lives, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Senior Case Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting claims excellence across NobleOak, including:

  • Managing a portfolio of complex Income Protection and/or TPD claims in line with delegated authority, policy terms, and service standards.

  • Making high-quality, defensible claims decisions on complex or sensitive matters.

  • Preparing and presenting claims at case conferences, peer reviews, and governance forums.

  • Providing technical leadership and quality oversight through peer reviews and quality assurance activities.

  • Coaching and supporting case managers to build technical capability, professional judgement, and confidence in decision-making.

  • Providing constructive feedback and contributing to the development of technical guidelines, standards, and ways of working.

  • Managing complex customer and stakeholder interactions with professionalism, empathy, and strong customer advocacy.

  • Working closely with reinsurers, medical practitioners, rehabilitation providers, advisers, and internal stakeholders to support effective claim management.

  • Supporting governance, reporting, audit activities, and regulatory compliance obligations.

  • Identifying trends, systemic issues, and opportunities to improve claims outcomes, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years' case management experience in underwritten Income Protection or TPD claims, including experience in a senior assessing or technical role.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Business, Law or a related discipline preferred (but not essential).

  • Strong technical claims management expertise with the ability to assess complex and sensitive matters.

  • Experience providing technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, or quality assurance support within a claims environment.

  • Deep knowledge of life insurance claims best practices, relevant legislation, regulatory obligations, and industry trends.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build productive working relationships across internal and external groups.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive customer interactions with empathy and professionalism.

  • A proactive mindset with a passion for quality outcomes, continuous improvement, and customer advocacy.

  • ANZIIF or ALUCA qualifications (or willingness to complete) will be highly regarded.

Why Join Us?

  • Play a senior role in shaping claims quality and technical excellence across the organisation.

  • Use your expertise to support and develop other claims professionals.

  • Make meaningful decisions that positively impact customers and their families.

  • Join a growing, purpose-driven life insurer with a collaborative and high-performing culture.

  • Be part of a business committed to integrity, customer advocacy, and continuous improvement.
